happy birthday kayla :)

As if it wasn't obvious in the title, it's kayla's birthday today! And besides heading to town to celebrate with friends, we dressed up and took some pictures :)

I have to admit, we didn't take these pictures for kayla's birthday though. I've been obsessed with planning my room (in the house I'll be moving into in September with Mel and Olive) and wanted some cute dress up pictures with my sisters to hang on the wall. So I convinced them to play dress up with me and take pictures!

Most of the things and clothing used actually belongs to me and kayla. ANd all the flapper stuff, I'll be using as my Halloween costume when it comes around :)

The hats above and bellow are two of my favorites. The one above is my Mad Hatter hat that I'll be using on my mad hatter for the alice in wonderland shoot. And the one below is a hat that I've been saving for that I finally got to buy this weekend :) I love it!

It was such a great day (most birth day's usually are) I'm happy with the way the pictures turned out, exactly the way I wanted them! I can't wait to put them up in my room next year!

Well, that's about it. Gotta love fun times with family :)

Down with the bloody red queen!

PART ONE of my Alice in Wonderland project

Recently I started my Alice in Wonderland photography project and I'm already so excited with the results and I can't wait to continue. Kayla played the red queen for me and she looked so excellent! I'm only posting one picture because I want to post everything at once, so I'll be posting teasers until the end result is done.

We originally were going to put red sequence sparkles on her lips to make the heart, but we couldn't find a way to make them stick, so intsead we lined the heart with black eye-liner and then filled it in with cherry red lip stain. It still looks amazing if you ask me! We did however, stick a red sequence sparkle on either side of her eyes. I put some orange eye-shadow and lined her top and bottom lid with black liner and packed on the mascara. She makes a brillinat red queen!

The dress we used, we found at a consignment store and at first we weren't too sure about it, but I have to say, she pulled it off and I love the end result. Her shots aren't finished of course, I'm going to need the red queen's shots that follow the story. I'm so very excited!!!

Upsilamba!

Upsilamba:
a word whose definition is your own personal discretion...

my definition: *a magic-filled day*

Today it was so beautiful out. Kayla and I took our bikes and biked to the water falls and took some pictures. It was so nice and relaxing. I could live there ;)

I'm wearing a black lace dress that I found at a thrift store and fell completely in love with. I paired it with some plain purple flats an H&M belt and a pearl necklace from suzy shier.
Well, it's the weekend now, and I'm very excited. I'm also excited to start my new job next week :)
Have a good weekend! I know I will :)

welcome to the jungle. we've got fun and games.

Just another beautiful day, out on the trail with my little brother and sister. The water made me want to go swimming, it still does! Unfortunately the wind is a little too cold for that yet. But soon!

I don't even remember when or where I got this dress...last summer maybe? I still love it though, i love the pattern and the flow. I LOVE summer dresses :)

I do, however, remember when and where I got these red tights :) It was during my schooling in Ottawa, and there's this store in the mall called "fancy sox" and they have the best tights and sox you could imagine! Every color, every pattern! You name it, they have it. I wish we had a fancy sox near by, but we don't, so I'll have to wait till the end of the summer, when I'm back at school to buy some more!
